Cuban Parliament Values Cooperation with Vietnam

Mr. Acosta Álvarez spoke at the handover ceremony of information and technical equipment donated by the Vietnamese National Assembly to support the installation of an online meeting room in Havana on July 21.

HAVANA – The National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (ANPP) always attaches great importance to fostering cooperation with the National Assembly of Vietnam, said ANPP Secretary Homero Acosta Álvarez.

He made the statement at the handover ceremony of information and technical equipment provided by the Vietnamese National Assembly to support the installation of an online meeting room in Havana on July 21. The event was chaired by ANPP President Esteban Lazo Hernandez.

Mr. Acosta Álvarez emphasized the cooperative relationship with the Vietnamese National Assembly, calling it a unique inter-parliamentary relationship in the world. He affirmed that this valuable support will contribute to enhancing the operational efficiency of the Cuban Parliament.

On this occasion, the ANPP also extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims in the recent cruise ship accident in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Lê Quang Long stated that the support from the Vietnamese National Assembly is a vivid symbol of the enduring and strong relationship between the two legislative bodies, as well as the special and faithful friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

The General Secretary and President of Vietnam reaffirmed the commitment of the Vietnamese Party, State, and people to continue strengthening and further developing the special solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation with Cuba.
