Real Madrid Issues Ultimatum to Vinicius Amid Tensions: Renew by Christmas or Be Sold
Real Madrid has reportedly delivered a clear ultimatum to Vinicius Junior, warning him to abandon any intention of leaving the club on a free transfer amid increasingly strained relations between the two sides.
According to Marca Brasil (MB), President Florentino Pérez has become more aware of the tactics used by Vinicius' camp, viewing them as manipulative. The club leadership, spearheaded by Pérez, is determined not to let such maneuvers succeed.
Vinicius’ current contract runs until the summer of 2027, and there have been no talks of renewal. The Brazilian forward has shown no sign of wanting to negotiate an extension, signaling—according to the club—an intent to run down his contract and leave on a free transfer.

Such a move would be seen as a major betrayal by Pérez, as Real Madrid would lose a valuable asset without compensation, while Vinicius would pocket a massive signing bonus at a new club.
To avoid that outcome, Real Madrid is set to demand that Vinicius either agrees to a contract extension before Christmas 2025 or face an immediate sale. The club is insisting on a firm commitment from the Brazilian star.
Recently, there were rumors of Saudi Pro League clubs offering up to €350 million for Vinicius. However, Real Madrid has investigated and believes these reports were merely pressure tactics from the player’s camp aimed at inflating his value in salary negotiations.
Vinicius is said to be seeking a salary of €20 million per year, which would make him the highest-paid player at the Bernabéu—even more than Kylian Mbappé. But the club is unwilling to break its wage structure for him, especially after a dip in form last season and his increasing off-pitch distractions, which have reportedly irritated Pérez.
