Admission Methods and Target Candidates
In 2025, the University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi will admit a total of 2400 students using 5 methods, including:
Method 1: Direct Admission according to the Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates who won First, Second, or Third prizes in the National Foreign Language Olympiad for excellent students are directly admitted to majors consistent with their tested foreign language.
Method 2: Admission based on 2025 High School Graduation Exam results. Candidates use the university's admission combinations to register an unlimited number of aspirations for admission to the university. Candidates must meet the minimum quality assurance thresholds set by the Ministry of Education and Training and the University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Method 3: Admission based on foreign language certificates combined with 2025 High School Graduation Exam results. Candidates convert their foreign language certificate score to a 10-point scale and combine it with the scores of the remaining 2 subjects in the university's admission combination to register an unlimited number of aspirations for admission to the university.
Method 4: Admission based on the High School Assessment Test results organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Candidates use the results of the High School Assessment Test organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, where the English component score must be at least 30/50 points.
Method 5: Admission based on certificates combined with high school academic performance. Target candidates: Candidates who are high school students from schools affiliated with Vietnam National University, Hanoi, or students from specialized classes/schools at provincial or centrally-run specialized high schools, whose academic performance for all three years of high school is rated as good (academic standing from "good" or higher). Candidates convert their certificate score to a 10-point scale, apply a coefficient of 2, and combine it with the academic results of 6 high school semesters for the remaining 2 subjects in the admission combination. This total is then converted to a 30-point scale, with priority points added according to regulations. Additional condition: Candidates must achieve a minimum of 8 points in Mathematics or a minimum of 15 points in the combination of 2 subjects (Mathematics, Literature) in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.
