To my dear students,

I am the vast ocean, where waves gently caress the shores day and night, and where countless wondrous marine creatures reside. If you were to look from above, you would see me stretching across this entire planet, serving as home to millions of marine organisms like fish, turtles, and corals... I am also the "mirror" reflecting the health of this planet, as I have the ability to regulate climate and absorb heat.

I help make the Earth vibrant and colorful, but currently, I am unwell. Every year, millions of tons of plastic waste and toxic substances are directly dumped into me, causing severe pollution. Oil spills on my surface also make it impossible for me to breathe.

Not only that, but climate change is causing my waters to rise and my temperature to change. This puts many marine creatures, from coral reefs to fish, at risk. Strong waves, fierce storms, and erratic weather changes are all consequences of global warming.

I know that you, the younger generation, are the ones who can help me. You are the ones who will decide my future and the future of this planet. Therefore, you need to act now to protect me and marine life.

I am truly saddened to see tiny plastic pieces floating on my surface. Plastic is my biggest enemy. It is non-biodegradable and causes great harm to the marine ecosystem. Therefore, I hope you can protect me by using plastic alternatives, such as cloth bags, glass bottles, and reusable plastic containers every time you go shopping, to school, or out for fun. If you go on a trip or vacation by the sea, you can clean up trash thoroughly before you leave. You can even participate in beach clean-up activities.

Climate change is also one of the main causes altering my living environment. As young people, you can reduce carbon emissions by conserving energy, using public transportation, and supporting environmental protection policies.

Become active advocates in your community about the vital role of the ocean and the necessity of protecting me. With these efforts, I believe I will recover quickly.

If everyone works together to protect the marine environment, I believe that one day, not far from now, I will return to my former self – a blue, clean body of water where all marine creatures can live and thrive in peace. I look forward to your support.
