"GD&TĐ - The Education and Training sector in provinces and cities after mergers has proactively and decisively implemented synchronous solutions with a determination to maintain educational quality and ensure seamlessness in management.

This event not only carries strategic significance for the socio-economic development of the Red River Delta region but also poses an urgent requirement for restructuring the apparatus, especially for the Education and Training sector, a field with large scale, complexity, many unique characteristics, and profound impacts.

Leaders of Hai Phong Department of Education and Training stated: Following the directives from the Central Government and relevant ministries and sectors, the Departments of Education and Training of Hai Phong and Hai Duong (old) have proactively carried out the steps of organizational, structural, functional, and task-related consolidation. This process is not a mechanical addition but requires flexible, synchronous, and responsible transition, ensuring the continuous flow of state management in education.

Currently, the entire education system of Hai Phong city comprises 1,632 educational institutions (1,420 public, 212 private); 8 universities; 652 foreign language centers, foreign language and IT centers, life skills centers, extracurricular activity centers, study abroad consulting centers; 424 community learning centers. Additionally, the city manages 78 vocational education institutions and businesses involved in this activity, including 21 colleges, 15 vocational secondary schools, along with other centers and establishments.

This is an important foundation that helps the city meet the demand for high-quality human resource training for the new development phase. Under the close leadership and guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training, the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee, along with the synchronous involvement of the entire political system and the people, Hai Phong's Education sector has basically maintained stable operations."

The merger of Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, and Vinh Long provinces into a new administrative unit is a major policy of the Central Government, presenting the Education sector with significant opportunities as well as no small number of challenges. The Department of Education and Training has been working with utmost urgency and responsibility to ensure stability, continuity, and development, living up to the trust of the Party Committee, authorities, and people of the province."

Sharing this, Ms. La Thi Thuy, Director of the Vinh Long Department of Education and Training, stated: "After the merger, the new Vinh Long province has become one of the largest education and training centers in the Mekong Delta region. The scale of the school network, the contingent of management officials, teachers, and the number of students has significantly increased (tripled)."

Specifically, the entire province now has over 1,400 educational institutions from preschool to general education and continuing education. The total number of management officials, teachers, and staff in the entire sector amounts to 41,472 people. This is an immense human resource, a key factor in improving educational quality.

Regarding higher education and vocational education: The new Vinh Long province has many reputable universities and colleges such as Tra Vinh University, Vinh Long University, Vinh Long University of Technology Education, and other colleges. This creates a complete educational ecosystem capable of training high-quality local human resources to serve the socio-economic development of the locality and the region.
